Paranoid Android

A little doodle done on the iPad with the App Adobe Ideas, and a cheap stylus bought off DealExtreme, that has nothing to do with the classic Radiohead song with the same title.

In the midst of doodling, I was sipping a Baileys Irish Cream Milkshake and trying not to think of the large amounts of calories that was.

Singapore SIRI!

SIRI, with a Singlish Pack will be such a comforting digital friend to speak to, or argue with :P .

Of course, Mr Brown has already came up with S.I.M.I way before I drew the above.

My terrible relationship with library books

Public libraries. There are so many of them in Singapore.I live near one that's located in the neighborhood shopping mall. It's a place where you can find retired old men flipping through newspapers, students with laptops plugged in, and the occasional person who'll fall asleep in the free air-con.

My trip to libraries are usually unplanned. I may just happen to be helping my mom return the books that she borrowed, or require a free place to hang out at while waiting for the rain to stop. But of course, I do pop by intentionally with the purpose of finding a book I need lah.

Here's the usual scenario whenever I pop by the library.

Firstly, while browsing, something interesting will get my attention.
Soon, I'll get bored of reading in the library. I'll max out my library card, lugging 4 books home, promising myself that I'll finish them when I get home. Plus, I get to pretend to be an intellectual while lugging so many books home.

Reached home. Books will end up on desk.

Books will continue to be abandoned on desk, while I spend most free time I have doing this...

3 weeks will pass.

I have forgotten about the library books. But the friendly library would remind me of them. And then I'll lug the same books back to the library...

Return them at the book drop.

And since I'm at the library already, why not drop in for some browsing?
The cycle repeats.

Dey, let me drive lah.

My friend Nitya recently obtained her driving license, and has been making full use of it, picking me up from work, and driving me around. It has been enjoyable: being chauffeured around, headbanging together to Prodigy's Firestarter and criticizing Sean Paul's music.

One wouldn't believe that she's on a P Plate, because she's pretty darn good at it (except the parking part..)

I failed my Basic Theory Test twice this year, chickened out on the third attempt, and haven't progressed in the driving world ever since. She'll keep ask me "Oi, so are you planning to continue to learn to drive" and I'll be like "not now, too stressed at work".

I must say, I am envious of her new ability. So one night, after another one of the "Are you going to continue to learn to drive" questions, I said:

Name Card

My Namecard

Intending to print this as a Moo Mini Namecard, to launch my freelance illustrator career. I'll need to, of course, get my website up and running first. Remember, kids: procrastination is a very evil thingy

FACEPALM

Hanging out at the CowboyBar far too often is not good for productivity. But sometimes you learn new words from uncle JayWalk.

FACEPALM: The action, often triggered by experiencing stupidity committed by your fellow friends, colleagues, enemies,

DOUBLE FACEPALM: Similar to the FACEPALM action, but with double the exasperation. Especially after hearing that Mas Selamat escaped through a toilet window which was without grilles, due to a conflict with the window contractor.GeBIZ very difficult to use meh? Singapore so many other window contractor what!

How to solve this pesky MSN "Virus" - partytimez.info - Illustrated!

The Problem
There is a MSN "Virus" going around, which automatically sends messages to the rest of your MSN contacts with the following: http://your_email.partytimez.info, and I have fallen victim to it, very much thanks to a friend.

It is not a virus, really.
I wouldn't call it a virus, because it doesn't affect your computer system, doesn't affect your registry at all: it simply irritates the hell out of your friends (and the rest of the beings you have bothered to keep on your MSN contact list even when you hardly speak to them).

Should I uninstall MSN Messenger?
Some people would advice you to uninstall MSN Messenger from your computer, and reinstall it again. NO WAI (LOLSpeak), ignore them, that wouldn't work, I can tell you. I've tried troubleshooting the problem by using a Web-based Messenger service (Meebo) being one of the better ones out there ). After awhile on the Web Messenger, I was logged out from it automatically once again, mass-sending my contacts the same irritating message. From then I knew that it wasn't a glitch occuring in my computer.

So, what's the problem, then?
It took me awhile to resolve this problem: a friend fell victim to this "virus" as well, and he was whining to me so much about it, which was really unattractive because whining isn't exactly something a guy is entitled to do. Instead of joining him in the whining, I googled for the solution, and found somebody's suggestion on Yahoo! Answers.

The scenario, illustrated.
There are really a lack of articles around to explain to you, and help you resolve this "virus" problem. Since I'm a really helpful person, I've (literally) illustrate the matter further. here's what really happens, painstakingly illustrated.

Apparently it's a phishing attempt by the web page to get your login ID and password. That is why even when you are offline, the 'virus' is able to your log into your MSN account and sends everyone in your contact list the same message containing the partytimez.info URL over and over again.

Solution:
Solving the problem to the partytimez.info problem is pretty easy: simply change the password to the email you use for your MSN account. Because your new password wouldn't tally with the old one which the website managed to 'phish' from you, the 'robot' they have built wouldn't be able to log in automatically to your MSN Messenger anymore.

Apparently there are other bots that does the same thing as what the fellas at partytimez.info do, so you can try the same method to solve the problem.

I figured I'll have to write a blog entry about it, because alot of people will be affected by this. Leave a message, if this helps!

Sunjay the Red Elephant

My friend's brother's kids made me tell them jokes, so I came up with a silly story about a Red Elephant that wanders around Teck Whye Gardens. Yes, it's nonsense. Why would an elephant be wandering around Singapore?

I guessed they kinda enjoyed the story, because they got to choose the colour of the elephant, and I named it after one of them: Sunjay!

Could end up as a good children's story. :P

I hate this song

Did a 6-day temp job at my old school last week. They kept playing Josh Groban songs. And Corrinne May too. They both have great voices but if it's on repeat, it's a warcrime!

The unlikely duo

The Unlikely Duo

Doraemon is not a Pokemon. But who says he can't befriend one?

This is also my very first proper drawing done on my new toy - the smallest Wacom Bamboo! And of course, I don't know how to blend colours properly. I hope they teach that in art school.
